The big news at the Trinity Old Scholars Cricket Club this week was mostly off the field, although Brad Cameron’s century was also a highlight.

Congratulations to our coach Ali Forwood and his partner Amalie, who welcomed Baby Forward into the world – great news.

Also, well done to our VP Ben Johnson and Talia on their engagement party celebrations on Saturday, it was a great night.

On to the field and the A grade are in a great position for a second straight outright victory, this time against Walkerville.

The boys rolled them early on Saturday and then claimed first innings points.

After being 4/60 odd, Cammo settled the innings with a powerful hundred, with Mitch Dearman providing solid support as wingman.

In the B grade, Grady Hudd’s boys have also already secured first innings points, rolling Old Ignatians for 122.

Our reply has us 5/136 and considering our options for the second day as the team sharpens its finals focus.

Matt Knox’s C grade had another win after knocking up 7/197 (Knox 60, Jase Morgan 52, Dave McGree 32).

In reply, Hectorville made 161 with Alex Clayton, Knox and Nick Paget taking two wickets each.

The women’s team copped a loss to Northern Districts in a rain-reduced game.

Brooke Moreland (52) and Lisa Panes (25) got us off to a good start and after our 16 overs we’d scored 3/90.

Jets found the going a little easier and only lost two wickets as they passed our score.

Mel Hardy took another wicket and Brooke took a ripper catch.

Don’t forget this Saturday night’s TOSCC Quiz Night – it’s going to be a good night with Austin Smith on the mic and plenty of prizes on offer.

We hear Bailee Major’s already calling a win for her team!

This week: A grade v Walkerville (Waldeck), B grade v Old Ignatians (Gawler River), C grade v Para Hills (Adelaide High School), Women v Gepps Cross (Waldeck).
