^^ Alex Cotter made a solid 56 in the club’s first day of play against Golden Grove.

Slow and steady was the theme as the TOS A grade batted their way to a very competitive target at Golden Grove on Saturday.

At 4/48 the wheels could have fallen off and the Grove would’ve thought they were in with a shot of a shorter day in the sun, but Brad Cameron (74) and Alex Cotter (56) ended those thoughts with 97-run partnership.

Mitch Dearing (40) reinforced their efforts, albeit lucky not to be LBW, and Josh Southwell (20) and Brad Schaper (16) piling on some late runs, we made 9/241.

Sadly for Jarryd Furnell, his new pads got the wrong kind of work out and he was dismissed LBW.

Finally from the A grade, congratulations to Brad Matters, who made his debut on the weekend.

In the B grade, it was a case of missed opportunity as the boys were dismissed for 184, with the last four wickets falling for 14 runs

Mark Williams made 34, with skipper Grady Hudd hitting a half century and other contributions from Marcus Barreau (20), Dylan Winning (23) and Ryan Roberts (21).

In reply, Marion are 4/114 with Stef Lainas (2/21) making a good return and Nick Goodman a surprise wicket taker.

To the C grade and the boys had a loss as Glenunga made 175 and we were dismissed for 75.

Finally, our women return to the field this Sunday and there’s still room for new players should you know anyone keen to play.

This week: A grade @ Golden Grove (second day), B grade v Marion (Waldeck), C grade – bye, Women v Adelaide University (Waldeck).
