Credit goes out to the Trinity Old Scholars A grade, playing out a day’s cricket in oppressive conditions on Saturday.

With all other grades called off due to the heat, our top side was the only team facing the heat and they fell the wrong side of the toin coss and were sent into the field by Modbury.

Modbury made hay while the sun shone, keeping our lads out in the heat all day and scoring 5/293.

It was a tough day for the bowlers with a number of decisions going against them, as well as some dropped catches.

To everyone’s credit, all kept their heads high in the tough conditions.

Full credit goes to Liam Nottle for helping out with subfielding duties, while Tim Viner-Smith made his return to the A grade.

The boys return to Modbury for the second day with a determined effort required to chase down the opposition’s score.

Meanwhile, the results didn’t go their way, but congratulations to Austin Smith and Josh Southwell who represented the TOSCC in the ATCA under 23s on the weekend (in much cooler conditions).

Just a reminder that training has moved to Wednesday night this week, as well as our normal Thursday night session, following which it’s Taco Thursday in the Paul Benz Honorary Pavilion.

The ladies also return to training this Thursday night.

Also, get your song lists together for the annual Shuffle Night – remember, it’s a white’s night. This year’s theme is Old School Aussie music. Speak to Sean Docherty if you need more information.

Saturday: A grade v Modbury (at Modbury, day two), B grade v Ingle Farm (Waldeck), C grade v Woodville South (Main Oval).
