Three wins from three games, what a great way to start the season for the TOSers.
The A grade comfortably defended 9/340, with SHOC dismissed for 121 in their first innings.
Brad Schaper got four of the first five wickets, before
Jarryd Furnell came on and ruined his hopes of a maiden ‘five for’ by claiming four scalps.
Furnell, in his return game for the club, continued his work in SHOC’s second dig (3/106), with two more wickets.
It was a comfortable win but several dropped catches and a couple of missed run outs suggest there’s still work to be done.
Congrats to Nicholas Goodman and Joshua Southwell on successful debuts.
The B grade were defending 7/395 and needed just about all of those runs as SHOC fell just 45 runs short.
We don’t know who took the wickets as the skipper hasn’t entered the scores yet.
In the C grade, the first match of the season saw Matt Knox leading the charge, as he did last year, with 91 and 3/21.
With the side elevated to LO5, the win against Woodville South was a good start as they fell 42 runs short of our 5/210.
Other match highlights included Adrian Zorich (50), debutant Liam Beazleigh (27), and two wickets each to newbie Alexander Clayton and Jacob Snook(???).
In other news, we’re starting to see some interest in our women’s 20/20 side and there’s still time to join.
If you are, or know of anyone, interested, contact Adrian Zorich (0422 729 911).
