Season 2017/18 is promising to be a ripper for the Trinity Old Scholars Cricket Club.
The Club is looking to grow, this season introducing a women’s side as part of the Adelaide Turf Cricket Association.
The implementation of a nine-a-side Women’s competition, running from November to January, will provide a great opportunity for Women’s cricket and the Old Scholars to expand with the support of the ATCA.
We will again be fielding three men’s teams – an A Grade playing in the A3 competition, B Grade who remain at B2 level, and a C Grade side, which was promoted to Limited Overs Division 5 after last season’s minor premiership.
We will also be fielding a Twenty20 side that will look to improve on the past two seasons, where we were eliminated in the first rounds of the knockout stage of the competition.
The club will be looking to add to our six premierships, with A and C grade just missing out on Grand Final berths last season, and the B Grade keen to qualify for finals, having narrowly missed qualification, finishing sixth in 2016/17.
Another exciting development for the club is that we will be enjoying our first season using the Old Scholars Pavilion, which will provide additional player and spectator comfort on match days, as well as greater opportunities for social occasions.
The Cricket Club is also always open to new players of all abilities and ages, from school players in the holidays, to those more experienced. Players do not need to have a connection to the school, either.
So if you are interested, feel free to join us for training sessions at the Big Shed on the Trinity North campus, on Tuesday and Thursday at 6pm, or contact our president, Adrian Zorich (0422 729 911).
